The Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival

Recently, someone asked me what that button on my sidebar is about -- the one that says "The Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival."  If you click on it, it will take you to a Blog Carnival site that has more information about it and when and where it's published.  A blog carnival is sort of like an online magazine. There are carnivals for a wide variety of subjects.

Anyway, I've participated in this carnival in the past, and the one for the Carnival of Homeschooling (for which there is also a button on my sidebar).  Hence, the buttons.

And who is Charlotte Mason, you ask?  She was a woman from the 1800's who started a school in England, who had many good thoughts on teaching which she wrote in this series, and in whose style some people choose to home educate, entirely or in part.  I incorporate some of her ideas into our little school myself.

If you want to know more about Charlotte Mason, or about how to homeschool in this style, go here or here.   And/or go to the Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival.  The current issue is hosted at Riddlelove.  I've not participated this time or for some time, but there are some good posts, including one about Vivaldi and one about hymns which I hope to reference again later.  So that's to remind me.
